Biogas can be utilised in biogas generators or combined heat and power (CHP) systems to produce electricity and utilise heat. The generated electricity can be used to power electrical appliances, lighting, or even feed into the grid for broader distribution. For example, 1 m3 of biogas can generate approximately between 1.4 – 3.5 kWh of electricity. Please note that some of biogas engines will still require additional fuel, depending on the engine type.
