We have compiled a few questions and answers that could be helpful for you to use the site and its content.

Octopus is the first collaborative online platform for emergency faecal sludge treatment and disposal. Content includes case studies, toolbox, and the current training courses section. Learn more about Octopus here: (https://octopus.solidarites.org/about-octopus)

Yes! The courses are completely free to use. The content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike 3.0 France License.

Getting started is easy! You can browse the course catalogue and once ready, simply create an account on our website by clicking the “Sign Up” button and following the prompts. Once registered, you can browse our course catalogue, select the courses that interest you, and enrol in them.

The courses are self-paced to learn at your own convenience. Some courses might have scheduled live sessions for real-time interaction with instructors and peers. You will receive an invitation if you have registered for the course.

Registration is required if you want to save your progression and receive a certificate upon course completion. On the Octopus Trainings page, click on “Registration” on the top banner, fill in the required fields with your information, and click the “Register” button. Shortly after, you will receive a registration confirmation email at the email you have provided.

Yes, all of our courses offer certificates of completion, BUT you will need to register with your actual name if you want to receive a certificate upon course completion. To complete the course, you should complete all quizzes and exercises, in the order you wish to.

Yes, once you are registered, your progression is automatically saved as soon as the content is validated.

Yes, you can. Click on the “Forgot Password?” link on the registration/log in page. Make sure to provide a valid email address to receive the password reset link.

To access our courses, you’ll need a stable internet connection and a device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) that supports modern web browsers and audio outputs.

To delete your data, please send an email to Admin (add email address) with request for deregistration.

To correct a typo in your name, you’ll need to contact the administrator directly. Please send an email to octopus@solidarites.org for assistance. Note that changes to your password and email address can still be made through the ‘Profile’ page.

Octopus is a free and participative platform. There is no dedicated support team, but you can contact the Admin in case of technical or editorial issues. You can reach Octopus’ admin at: octopus@solidarites.org
